Catholic Priest Okays PM's Constant Commandment Breaches

I don't know what other conclusion to draw, except that it appears to be okay with this priest that PM continuously breach Commandment #9 - "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour".

For those of you unfamiliar with this statement, what this basically means is that you won't lie about or to others, or spread untrue stories about other people.
While Catholicism allows for recanting of sins through confessional, the goal at the end is that you won't commit these sins anymore.

So what does this statment by Rev. John Walsh translate into for the everyday Catholic? For them moral decency is expected -- but it isn't a requirement for public office.

Paulie Martin has a priority.

Paulie made 47 priority promises.

Guess if they are all Priority, then there can not be ANY priority. Right?

The first promise may take place in 2008, providing it is not postponed, that is.

Paulie has an alergy. Keeping promises. '3s TG

Not to sound anti-religous, but they don't discipline their peadophile priests, so why the big surprise they don't discipline a liar, thief and cheat? And I wonder just how much PMPM "tithes" to his local church??

The sad thing is, what the church thinks of pmpm is far less consequential than what Ontario voters think of him.

Hello Aizlynne, in reply to your question. Yes, it's getting cold up here, frosty windshields in the morning. A coupleof near misses lately because of people who aren't smart enough to scrape their windshields and figure that scraping barely enough see out of is enough to get by with. Hope you folks are keeping warm down there. We're pretty busy these days, but will drop in as much as possible.

Fr. Walsh may wind up being the first Pope of the Politicians' Catholic Church, an idea I have started (and really need to revamp when I get the time).
Congrats on your recent anti-anti-war protest. You and Richard are now officially honourary Americans (and, if you want, you can be the 51st state...)

Wow... thanks Popeye. Gosh, that makes me an honourary American AND Canadian! lol

And I like your idea of the new church.

Perhaps the Federal Liberal Party eventually will create a government-sponsored "feel good" church:

The Reformed Catholic and Apostolic Church of Sin Management

Core doctrine: "Whatever it takes, God helps those who help themselves...whatever it takes!"

Thanks for the post.

It is a sad commentary that the RC Church is reflecting the unprincipled pragmatism of the political culture, instead of challenging it and reforming it. Historically Protestant churches are little better.

Maybe if Churches had more integrity, they would be agents of positive cultural change, instead of copycatting the liberals.
