Post Trial Followup - Michael Jackson

Disappointed with the verdict yesterday? You were not alone, judging by the comments proffered by talking heads/pundits and bloggers themselves.

For me, the disappointment came when the jurors spoke. They appeared to be willing to overlook the 1108 evidence (which I found extremely compelling) because of the accuser's Mom. It was evident from the comments made by the jurors that they found her highly offensive and condescending.

The height of chutzpah came when, after listening to several jurors say they thought he was a molester but put their own personal feelings aside, yet decided to punish the young boy because the mother had "snapped her fingers at them"; thereby allowing the sins of this mother to cloud their judgement and take the "apple doesn't fall far" approach.

By far, the most damaging aspect of the verdict is that, in my opinion, it has sent a clear signal to the drug induced Jackson that it's okay to continue his lifestyle of sleeping with young boys. Think he'll stop? I doubt it.
